There was a Soup'n'Sweet lunch at Lossie Town Hall on Saturday 28th April from 12 til 2pm.

The Sankey Night held by the Moray Male Voice Choir in the UF Church on Friday 10th November was a big success raising over £300 for the fund.

The Seafood Dinnerin the Stotfield Hotel on Saturday 25th November was a flagship event in the fundraising and the biggest single activity to date generating a phenomenal sum which propelled the project towards it's target. The dinner provided a showcase for manager Tim Bell and his staff to demonstrate their skills to the near-100 diners. The guest speakers Murray Campbell - Lossie loon, ex fisherman and currently the serving Mission man at Scrabster - and Gary Imlach - author of the William Hill Sports Book of The Year 2005 for his account of his father, Stuart Imlach's life in football - were a real treat, as if one were needed to supplement the simply superb seafood and service. Also present were John Todd whose unique painting created for the occasion fetched a 4-figure sum at auction and a limited edition of signed prints are selling very well; Ed Smith of Fochabers whose specially sculpted model boats attracted a large number of exceptional bids in a silent auction; and Crinan & Alex Dunbar, representing Pitgaveny Estates who have generously donated the very site for the monument to be built on.

The Stotfield Disaster Playwas performed in the Town Hall, Lossie on Thursday 7th December to rapturous applause from justly proud parents, grandparents and those of us who had never seen the play performed before. The writer Ann Osbon was present and full of praise for the youngsters who did her play justice. Kate Mackenzie and Christine Maclean guided the young stars in the production and their hard work certainly paid off. The evening was introduced by performances from the Lossie High School Choir and Fiddlers, and concluded - after mulled wine and Christmas pies by one half of duo Smuggler, Pete Thom, along with Kate Mackenzie singing.

Fisher League 18-hole Open over Moray Old Course on Saturday 8th October was another fund-raising event. 135 entrants fought blustery conditions - buoyed by soup and a dram at the 9th - with Kevin Thomson taking top scratch, Alan Lees one handicap section and Ian Hamilton the other. The team trophy went to the trio of Mickel, Majid and Borland with a combined 222. Thank you to Moray Golf Club and to Ishbel Harris, the Moray Golf Club Caterer.
